Can you see his blue eyes? He was a pretty color of orange.
We put him on the sand to see what he would do and he tried to walk away. Doug took him back into the water and let him go.
Enjoying another tasty meal of fish on the beach. |
You can also order Lobster here on the beach. None of us are big lobster fans but we were tempted to buy one of these guys. As we were leaving the beach that evening. A truck came through with these guys in an ice chest. Some of them were Huge! I think they wanted about $12 for one but since none of us knew really how to prepare them, we passed.
I took this picture of the Milk delivery truck in service this past week. Cory has a study with a man who lives in the house behind and it is across from a cheese factory, now don't get mislead by the word "factory", it really is just a couple of shacks where they make cheese. But every morning the farmers bring in their milk to sell to the cheese factory. This guy had finished his delivery and was heading home.
Cory's neighbor has a little saw mill next to his house and he got his delivery the other day. Doug was wondering how they were going to unload it. They untied the load and just rolled them off.
Jeni's mom Carmen & I worked in service together on Thursday. I took her back on a RV of mine that I had promised a Bible Teach bk. We had a really nice call and Carmen is going to study with they young woman.

Thursday night at meeting, Daniela, the Haitian girl wanted to sit with us again. She handed me a candy bar before meeting but this time I was prepared, I had some candy to give back to her! We chatted about what comments we had for the meeting that night and then I remembered I hadn't given her one of the bookmarks with the Bible reading for the year, so I handed her a pretty one with flowers which she went and showed to her parents and then she came back and handed me another candy bar! I tried to refuse saying it would just make me fat, she thought a little bit and then said that I could share it with my husband. So I got two candy bars!
Jean Baptist, posing for a picture |
This is Antonio with his youngest daughter in front of him, the woman with the little girl behind are his sister and daughter who he brought along for the first time and then his wife, yes that makes five. Daniela and Jean waited at the Hall for Dad to return for them since 7 on the bike was just a little too many (the family of five usually travel together!
So you may be wondering how the wedding plans are coming together. We're six days away! This past week we made some arrangements for the extra chair and linen rentals that are needed for the reception. The pre-wedding legal paper work had to be filed at the civil office. Final negotiations for the two pigs that will be roasted for the wedding have been finalized. Oh and the final fling with the boys (I mean young men) occurred last night. Cory was given instructions by his friends to be Imbert at 12:30 yesterday to be picked up and that he would not be returned until sometime on Saturday. He didn't know where he was going or who would be there. I told him to take pictures for me for the blog but he just laughed, oh well. Tomorrow, Sunday, we travel to La Isabella Kingdom Hall for the Zone visit. The congregations are being tied in electronically to the program. I believe this is a first for this country so we're excited to be a part of it. Cory is the main Tech guy so we will be leaving early to get things set up. Also tomorrow my family will be arriving into Puerta Plata (unless the blizzard delays them) We'll all be getting together on Monday so they'll get to meet Jeni for the first time!. I hope to be able to give some brief updates at the next week unfolds.
Wish you could all be here with us.
Hi Guys We liked Playa Ensenada also. Did you go out to jump off the big rock/coral at the end of the bay? Six days till the wedding? Hey you could be grandparents in 9 months and 6 days. Abuela Deb sounds pretty nice. Enjoy the wedding.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the pictures. We're anticipating the pictures of your family as they arrive. I don't think Cory will be happy with Chris's comments about you guys being grandparents, since Cory wanted us to keep our grandchildren's pictures away from you, Deb!
ReplyDeleteWow, what treasures, Wish we were there to enjoy, Give Cory and Jeni our best wishes. If you find an empty conch shell, bring it home and I will make you a surprise with it. The 6 days will fly as I am sure all so far have,,,, with warm Christian Love,,, Charlie and Laura and Mama
